A recording of the 1960s musical landscape of the Banda people living in the Central African Republic. It's a Japanese licensed version originally released by the French Vogue label in 1971. The album begins with a synthetic trumpet fanfare using antelope horns, followed by "Funeral Music" with proverbs and sayings played on slit drums, a song sung by a prayer warrior over xylophone and trumpet, a lullaby sung in two different styles, and a drum and female voice chorus "Rite of Passage Dance". Wonderful piece. Comes with a rare obi.
