Yellow Long Neck, (aka Long Neck Yellow),... was given to me by Edgar Valdivia. [He] got his plant from George Emerick who had personally [obtained] cuttings from a tree growing in an test orchard at U.C. Riverside which had earned a reputation as having outstanding figs. I've had some years where the 'neck' portion is fairly extended and other times 'normal' in size, but the rest of the fig has always been fairly round beyond the neck portion. Just as a side note, at the school where I volunteer at I've planted several of these fig trees and I've had parents telling me that their children can't get enough of these figs once they eat just one.
